    West Ham United manager David Moyes is under a lot of pressure after his side’s poor run of form this season.

    According to a report from Jacob Steinberg, West Ham are prepared to give their manager time to turn things around and the future of Moyes is under no immediate threat.

    The Hammers were beaten by Brentford last night and they are currently 17th in the league table.

    David Moyes was backed significantly during the summer transfer window with the number of signings and the Hammers were expected to challenge for European qualification. However, things have not gone according to plan at the London club they find themselves battling for survival in the Premier League.

    A club of their stature deserves to be higher up the table and it will be interesting to see if Moyes can transform his team’s fortunes in the coming weeks.

    Although the Hammers are prepared to back their manager right now, it is highly unlikely that they will stick with him if the results do not improve soon.

    It will be interesting to see if West Ham can win their upcoming games.

    West Bromwich Albion return to Championship action today as they host Rotherham United in a 3pm kick-off.

    Alex Palmer will surely continue in goal, with the shot-stopper having conceded only once in the Baggies’ last four games.

    He will sit behind an unchanged back four, with Kyle Bartley’s only just back in training and Semi Ajayi ruled out. The former has enjoyed a similarly rich vein of form but was struck down in their mid-season friendly with Elche.

    Erik Pieters deputised brilliantly at the Stadium of Light, though, making five clearances, and he will continue alongside Dara O’Shea. They will be flanked by Conor Townsend and Darnell Furlong.

    The substitute heroics of Tom Rogic will surely have earned him a start for today, as it was his goal which sparked their second-half turnaround last Monday. He will partner Okay Yokuslu, who will screen the defence to allow John Swift the freedom to get forward.

    Jed Wallace provided a peach of a cross for their late winner at Sunderland, and he will continue on one wing. However, having missed out five days ago due to illness, Grady Diangana should return ahead of Matt Phillips if he is deemed fit enough, having also trained this week.

    Despite being described as a “fantastic player” by Charlie Austin in the past, Phillips’ performances have not caught the eye this season, ranking a lowly 17th among West Brom’s squad via WhoScored.

    These wide attackers will supplement the return of Monday night’s match-winning hero, with Daryl Dike seeking to make his first senior start since last January.

    His goal and assist won them the match earlier in the week, and if he is deemed fit he will surely be trusted to lead the line today.

    West Ham United defender Issa Diop joined Fulham during the summer transfer window.

    Apparently, the centre-back wanted more playing time and therefore he decided to leave the Hammers.

    West Ham manager David Moyes has now revealed that the club did not want to sell the former Toulouse defender, but they had to let him go because of his desire to play regularly.

    Moyes said to Football London: “We liked Issa [Diop] a lot, we would have liked Issa to stay. At that time, we were having difficulties with centre-halves. We liked Issa a lot, but his choice was he wanted to go and play more, and in the end we granted it. It was a difficult one for us, because we were really short of defenders at that moment.”

    The Hammers have had their fair share of injury issues in the defensive department and keeping Diop would have been a wise move.

    That said, things are not going according to the plan for the former West Ham defender. He has struggled to hold down a regular starting berth at Fulham and has started just three league games for the Cottagers.

    It remains to be seen whether he can force his way into the starting lineup and establish himself as a key player for Fulham.

    Diop’s talent is beyond doubt but he was largely inconsistent during his time at West Ham and he will have to get over those issues if he wants to establish himself as an indispensable asset for his new club.

    The 25-year-old has signed a long-term contract with Fulham and he will have plenty of opportunities to showcase his qualities and iron out his flaws with time.
