West Ham’s positive start to the season continued on Saturday with a 2-0 win over Sheffield United but former Hammer Tony Gale was not impressed with the performance of one particular star.
David Moyes’ side got the job done in front of their home fans and the three points put them seventh in the Premier League table.
The Scottish coach was happy with his team’s performance but one player who quite simply didn’t show up was Said Benrahma, who came on as a second-half substitute but failed to make any kind of impact on the game.
Tony Gale was not happy with the winger’s showing and said on the co-comms: “He’s very frustrating Benrahma, he gets the ball in wide positions but very rarely does anything with it. It’s too easy (for defenders) he’s got to do more.”
Benrahma’s time with the London club has fluctuated ever since joining the Hammers from Brentford for around £25m in 2020 and the star could be a great player if he could find some consistency in his game.

Liverpool beat West Ham 3-1 at Anfield, with goals from Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota, to take all three points.
A Salah penalty, followed by goals from Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota secured a comfortable victory in the end for the Reds. This felt like a complete performance from Liverpool, with everyone pulling their weight and fulfilling their roles.

Alisson – 7 – The Brazilian made 3 saves for Liverpool, and 1 high claim. There wasn’t much he could do about the goal, which went in off the post.
Andrew Robertson – 7.5 – Robertson continued to play that slightly unfamiliar role, inverting into midfield at times to help Liverpool in their build up. He is still offering attacking threat down the left with overlaps, but is also adding this ability to invert to create overloads centrally when needed.
Virgil van Dijk – 8 – Dominated with defensive actions, and got himself an assist for Liverpool’s third goal. The Dutchman made 5 clearances, 1 block, 3 interceptions and 2 tackles.
Joel Matip – 7 – Matip also did his job defensively, winning his aerial duels (4 out of 5) and making clearances when West Ham looked to be direct.
Joe Gomez – 7 – Gomez was strong defensively down the right flank, and also offered some attacking threat on the overlap at times. He made 1 key pass, and made 3 tackles and 2 interceptions.
Curtis Jones – 6.5 – Jones didn’t do anything particular wrong, but it was a quiet game for the midfielder. He had the one shot on target, and was winning his ground duels in midfield when sweeping up around Mac Allister and Szoboszlai, but nothing stood out about his game.
Alexis Mac Allister – 7.5 – Mac Allister seemed to be everywhere in midfield, covering a lot of ground for Liverpool and getting on the ball a lot in build up. The Argentine had 103 touches, made 86 accurate passes and completed 2 out of 3 dribbles.
Dominik Szoboszlai – 7 – Szoboszlai was the most advanced of Liverpool’s midfielders, making 4 key passes and taking 3 shots. Whilst the Hungarian didn’t get on the score sheet, or get an assist, he was influential in attacking areas for the Reds.
Luis Diaz – 7 – Diaz looked to hold width on the left which saw him less involved for Liverpool. He had 41 touches and still made 2 key passes, and completed 1 successful dribble.

Mohamed Salah – 8 – Salah converted from the spot to give Liverpool a 1-0 lead, and could have had more with his 5 shots (2 on target). He also completed 2 successful dribbles and made 2 key passes.
Darwin Nunez – 7.5 – Nunez was menacing in attack, making forward runs which resulted in Salah winning the penalty for Liverpool’s first and Nunez adding a second himself with a lovely lofted finish over Areola.

Tottenham defender Eric Dier has come under criticism for his performance in their 2-1 win over Brighton.
Spurs secured all three points, but Dier’s perforamance was singled out for his mistakes in the game, including giving away the ball multiple times, which led to the criticism from football writer Andrew Gaffney.
Gaffney tweeted his disappointment, stating that “Eric Dier is terrible, man.”

Tottenham’s win was crucial for their hopes of finishing in the top four, with goals from Heung-min Son and Harry Kane securing the victory. Brighton were a constant threat throughout the match, and had two goals denied as well as a penalty claim that was not given.
With reports suggesting that Tottenham are looking to sign a centre-back in the summer, it is possible that Dier could be on his way out of the club.

Genting Malaysia posted strong results during the second quarter of the year ended on June 30, 2022. The company reported $478 million (MYR2.18 billion) in revenue or a five-fold increase. The key driver of this revenue was the Malaysian Integrated Resort.
Genting Malaysia Marks Strong Recovery in Q2022
Resorts World Genting managed to pull in $293 million over the period, or some MYR1.31 billion in local currency. The second-quarter results continued to build up on the slight recovery registered in the first quarter of the year, for the period ended on March 31. At the time, the Group reported $385 million (MYR1.72 billion) in revenue. Resorts World Gaming generated $206 million in the previous quarter.
The latest financial results remained strong, nevertheless. Adjusted EBITDA for the quarter was reported as $139 million or MYR619.5 million. This was a significant year-over-year jump from the $10 million reported in the second quarter of 2021, and an improvement still from the $93 million (MYR414.4 million) reported in Q1 2022.
Genting Malaysia continues to operate well beyond Malaysia, focusing on developments in Egypt and the United Kingdom. Results in those properties also managed to increase significantly in year-over-year terms. The combined revenue for the overseas properties reached $85 million or MYR381.2 million.
In the United States, revenue stood at $93 million or MYR417.2 million with Genting Malaysian demonstrating strong diversification. The Group will also pursue the establishment of better synergies between RWNYC and Resorts World Cocktail, hoping to consolidate its local market exposure and maintain a leading position in the northeast US region.
Still, Asia remains its stomping ground where the company hopes to achieve full recovery as the risk of a massive COVID-19 outbreak remains moderate. So much that the company has allowed itself to be cautiously optimistic for the near-term outlook of the leisure and hospitality industry, Genting Malaysia stated in the official Q2 report.
Efforts Beyond Asian Markets Paying Off
In Malaysia, the Group intends to continue optimizing yield contributions by focusing on key business verticals and database marketing efforts. Foreign and domestic visitations to Resorts World Genting will also constitute a big part of the Group’s future results. The Group is also eyeing a boost in travel demand in the Bahamas as pent-up demand is most likely to drive significant revenue for the company in the quarters ahead.
A lot hinges on the COVID-19 pandemic being kept at bay so that traveling can pick pre-pandemic levels. A shift in the overall attitude has also been noticed, with companies trying actively to attract higher-value customers.
