    Detroit Lions Offense is (Surprisingly) Good in 2022

    Last season, the Detroit Lions scored a total of 325 points in 17 games, which accounts for 19.11 points per game on average. After two weeks of the 2022 NFL season, their scoring average is 35.5. With 71 points scored in total, The Lions have the most productive offense in the National Football Conference (NFC).

    The most surprising thing about Detroit’s offensive display is that the Lions did play against some pretty tough defenses. In Week 1, they scored 35 points against the Philadelphia Eagles – the team that held the Minnesota Vikings to just seven points in Week 2.

    In their second game of the 2022 season, the Lions scored 36 points against the Washington Commanders. The game saw a fantastic collaboration between quarterback Jared Goff and wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown – the WR caught two TD passes in that game. The Lions were also terrific running-wise, with three rushing touchdowns scored.

    Minnesota Vikings Offense Needs to Do Better

    Minnesota’s quarterback Kirk Cousins had a fantastic game in Week 1 when he threw 23/32 for 277 yards and two touchdowns against the Green Bay Packers. It was a whole different story in Week 2. The Vikings lost 24-7 to the Eagles, with Cousins going 27/46 for 221 yards and one touchdown. The worst thing is that three of his throws ended up intercepted by Philly’s defense.

    Cousins and his teammates will have to do better in the offense in Week 3. Luckily for them, they’re locking horns with one of the worst defenses in the league. The Lions have conceded 65 points so far, which is more than any other team in the NFL in the 2022 season.

    Lamar Jackson is Playing on an MVP Level

    After two weeks of the 2022 NFL season, the Baltimore Ravens offensive tally is 62 points. The man they should thank for this is their quarterback, Lamar Jackson. The man who won the league MVP award three years ago is 38/59 right now, with 531 passing yards to his name and six touchdowns.

    He’s a dictionary definition of a double-threat quarterback, the evidence being that he’s gained a total of 136 rushing yards for the Ravens in 2022, scoring one rushing touchdown along the way.

    Unfortunately for Baltimore, Jackson’s teammates haven’t been playing at the same level. This goes especially for his colleagues from the defensive team, who have been dreadful in the two games played in the 2022 season.

    In Week 1, the Ravens defense did an okay job against the New York Jets, allowing only nine points. In Week 2, however, they conceded 42 points to the Miami Dolphins.

    Can Patriots’ Defense Stop Jackson?

    The Patriots defense has been doing a solid job in the 2022 season. In Week 1, the Pats lost to Dolphins 20-7, but their defense allowed only 13 points; the other seven came from a turnover. In Week 2, they were great as well, keeping the Steelers to 14 points. As a result, the Pats were able to record their first win of the season – they beat the Steelers by three points.

    In Week 3, they need to stop Lamar Jackson, which is not going to be easy. The QB is 1-1 against them, going 41/57 in the two Ravens vs Patriots games he played so far. In those two games, we saw him throw for 412 yards and three touchdowns while getting one of his passes intercepted.

    We think New England’s defense can deal with him once again, probably keeping him to under three TDs. Unfortunately for them, that might not be good enough for a win. The thing is that the Patriots offense just doesn’t look good enough to outscore the Ravens.

    Their average in the 2022 NFL season is 12 points, with their second-year QB Mac Jones putting on mediocre performances thus far. He hasn’t been great with his throws, but his colleagues have been even worse. This goes especially for the Pats offensive line who really need to step up.

    Baltimore Ravens vs New England Patriots Prediction

    We expect both teams to do well in the defense. When it comes to the offense, Mac Jones and the Pats aren’t going to improve their scoring average much (if all). The Ravens’ offense led by Lamar Jackson is bound to have another decent outing.

    Cincinnati Bengals Coming Off a Disappointing Week 1 Performance

    The team that played in the Super Bowl last season, started its 2022 NFL campaign with a disappointing loss. The Cincinnati Bengals lost 23-20 to The Pittsburgh Steelers at home. They suffered a loss after overtime, where they got after a pretty impressive second half, in which they scored 14 points.

    They even had a chance to win the game in the final moments of the regular time, but placekicker McPherson missed an extra point. He also missed a field goal in the overtime, which later proved to be costly for his team.

    Still, the #1 reason for the Bengals first-round defeat is that their quarterback had a horrible game. Pittsburgh scored its first TD after a turnover just two minutes after the start of the first quarter.

    Cincinnati’s QB Joe Burrow made many other mistakes that afternoon, although he did up his game in the final two quarters. Burrow recorded 338 yards in the end, with two touchdown passes. It’s only logical to assume he’s going to do even better this time, even though he’ll be faced with even tougher opposition.

    Cowboys to Miss Dak Prescott

    Quarterback Dak Prescott will not play in Week 2’s game with the Bengals. The QB fractured his thumb in Week 1, when his team lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 19-3.

    One would think that his injury was the reason why the Cowboys failed to score more than just a field goal, but the fact is that he was on the field until the fourth quarter when his team was already 19-3 down.

    Prescott had a terrible game in Week 1, but so did his replacement, Cooper Rush. Although the backup QB spent a limited time on the pitch, his performance was far from pleasing – 7-for-13 for 63 passing yards.

    Cincinnati Bengals vs Dallas Cowboys Predictions

    The Cowboys offense isn’t going to do much without Prescott on the field, especially knowing that the Bengals’ defense is in top shape. Dallas’ defense, however, could produce a fine performance. Still, it probably isn’t going to be good enough to stop Burrow who’s determined to redeem himself for his Week 1 mistake.

    Morale is Low in Atlanta Falcons’ Locker Room

    The Falcons must feel disappointed after a victory slipped right through their hands in Week 1. They were 26-10 ahead of the fourth period in the game against the New Orleans Saints, but they gambled away the lead, losing 27-26 in the end.

    In the first three quarters, however, the Falcons show the world they could be a fantastic team. Their quarterback Marcus Mariota threw for 215 yards and one touchdown, while also gaining 72 yards for his team. Speaking of rushing, Cordarrelle Patterson recorded 120 yards, while also scoring one touchdown.

    These two are likely to be the men in the spotlight in Sunday’s game. The big question is whether the Rams’ defense can stop them.

    Matt Stafford Needs to Up His Game

    We have faith in the Rams’ defense. They should be able to handle whatever Mariota, Patterson, and the rest throw at them. After all, LA’s defensive team did put an okay performance against an offensive powerhouse that is Buffalo in Week 1. They even forced four turnovers in the Bills game.

    The Rams defense will do well in Week 2, there’s no doubt about that. But what about their offense? They weren’t great in the season opener, with QB Matt Stafford getting picked three times and throwing for only one touchdown.

    We expect him to do better this time. He did have some problems with his elbow, which may explain why he didn’t perform well against the Bills. However, ten days after the game, he should feel better.

    Apart from doing better in the passing game, we also expect the Rams to improve their running stats. In Week 1, their rushing was horrendous. This time, they need to do much, much better.

    Falcons vs Rams Prediction

    The Rams are a much better team than the Falcons and they have the motivation to grab a big win. Although the Falcons do have some decent players on the roster, we don’t expect to see much from them on Sunday.Picks: Los Angeles Rams to win and cover the spread

    Kansas City Chiefs Look Good in Post-Tyreek Hill Era

    Our Chargers vs Chiefs prediction is that this is going to be a very high-scoring game. The reason is that both teams have plenty of weapons in their offensive arsenal. There were some worries, though, that Kansas City’s offense might not be as lethal as it was in the past when Tyreek Hill was there.

    As a reminder, the lighting-fast wide receiver moved to the Miami Dolphins during the offseason, leaving a huge hole in the Chiefs’ attacking department. As they didn’t bring in any A-list WRs to replace Hill, some pundits were convinced they would struggle at the start of the 2022 NFL season. But they didn’t struggle in Week 1.

    Instead, they beat the Arizona Cardinals 44-21 on the road. Patrick Mahomes threw for five touchdowns in that game, with four different players catching his passes, namely:

    • Clyde Edwards-Helaire (2 TDs)
    • Travis Kelce
    • Mecole Hardman
    • Jody Fortson

    The Chiefs also did very well in the defense against the Cardinals, but there’s a caveat. They didn’t have to worry about Arizona’s best receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who’s out with a suspension. In Week 2, however, the Chiefs defense will have a much harder job on their hands.

    The Chargers Love Playing at Arrowhead Stadium

    The Chargers are 3-1 in their previous four trips to Arrowhead Stadium. In each of those wins, their offense did a fabulous job, scoring at least four touchdowns. Their defense, however, conceded 20+ points each time.

    That said, the big question isn’t whether the Chargers can score a lot in Thursday Night Football; the real question is whether their defense can do enough to get them their second win in 2022.

    Well, the Chargers defense looks much stronger than it was before, now that Khalil Mack is on the roster. Then, there’s also Joey Bosa, who too has what it takes to create hell for the opposition. The trouble is that these guys might not be good enough to get to Patrick Mahomes.

    One of the reasons why Mahomes has been such a prolific passer is that he has an amazing offensive line to protect him. They did a fine job against the Cardinals, and we expect more or less from them in Week 2.

    Chargers vs Chiefs Week 2 Prediction

    We predict real drama in the TNF game of Week 2. Both teams are going to do great in the offense, meaning that we should see well over 55 points in total. But who’s going to win the game? Oddsmakers think the hosts are more likely to do it, but we feel a surprise might happen. If Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa do their job well, the Chargers could get to 2-0.

    Can Bill Belichick Outsmart the Opposition?

    One may argue that in 2022, the Dolphins are a team that has more superstars on the roster than the Patriots. If you compare the two teams player-by-player, you’ll probably get to the conclusion that the Dolphins are (slightly) better.

    However, the Patriots do have a better coach. Bill Belichick is the man in question, a 70-year-old who has won eight Super Bowls with the Pats. All of those Lombardi Trophy wins came with Tom Brady in the quarterback position. However, since his departure to Tampa, Belichick has been more focused on the defense.

    This, of course, doesn’t mean the Pats’ new QB isn’t good. Mac Jones is coming off an impressive rookie season. Still, we don’t think he’s going to be in the spotlight in Week 1. Instead, the Pats’ defense players are the ones who hold the key to beating the Dolphins.

    The thing is that Miami has a new coach, who previously worked as an offensive assistant. The man in question is 39-year-old Mike McDaniel who replaced defensive-minded Brian Flores. Knowing this, it’s only logical to assume that the Dolphins are going to put a lot of emphasis on their offense in 2022.

    Miami Dolphins Have High Hopes for 2022 Season

    Last season, the Dolphins went 9-8, which wasn’t enough to get them to the postseason. It’s been six years since they made the playoffs last time, but we could see them pull it off in 2022. The thing is that Miami’s key players are no longer young and experienced, the best example being their quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

    Drafted in 2020 as a potential new NFL superstar, the Hawaiian is ready to take his career to the next level in his third year with the Dolphins. Luckily for him, he’ll have a wide receiver to help him achieve his goal.

    The man in question is Tyreek Hill, a former receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs. Nicknamed Cheetah, Hill is famous for his speed, which seems to be exactly what Miami’s offense needs.

    New England Patriots vs Miami Dolphins Prediction

    Miami’s strongest weapon in 2022 is their offense. However, we believe that Belichick’s boys have what it takes to handle them. The last time they played against the Dolphins, they conceded 33 points, but we think they’re going to do better this time. And their good defensive game should be enough to bring them a victory.
