    Newcastle United have often been criticised since the takeover for their links to the Saudi Arabian state.

    It appears that the Premier League club are now worried that they could face sanctions and punishments for their ties with the Saudi Arabian government.

    The Premier League side are owned by the Public Investment Fund, which has allowed them to spend big money on signings since the change of ownership.

    Newcastle have improved their squad dramatically and they managed to secure Champions League qualification as well.

    Recently La Liga president Javier Tebas levelled accusations towards French outfit Paris Saint-Germain for distorting the transfer market with their financial resources. It would not be a surprise if Newcastle or accused of something similar in the coming months.

    Apparently, the Magpies are worried that an investigation into their way of operating and their links with the Saudi Arabian government could result in point deductions.

    Napoli center-back Kim Min-Jae has come out to speak about the rumours that have linked him with a move to Manchester United.

    Kim has had an excellent first season in the Serie A for the league’s table-toppers Napoli and the South Korean addressed the talk around a potential move following his nation’s 2-2 draw with Colombia on Friday (h/t Manchester Evening News).

    “As you know, those rumours are not true at all. I want to focus on my team. I have many tournaments to play in,” said Kim.

    “It’s been four or years I have had these rumours. It’s uncomfortable. I wish you don’t spread those stories.”

    Kim played 90 minutes against Colombia

    The 26-year old went on to say he’s not interested in the rumours and that he is only focused on his club football.

    As much as West Ham will be desperate to keep hold of Rice, it’s understandable that he may want to look to join a Champions League club. Of course, West Ham will be fighting to keep hold of their captain, but keeping hold of a player who is looking to leave can sometimes have a detrimental effect.

    Rice certainly has the ability to play in a Champions League side as we’ve seen him compete with the best during England’s World Cup campaign.
