    Gareth Southgate has stated that he can’t understand why Jordan Henderson was booed on Friday evening.

    England won their international friendly against Australia 1-0 on Friday evening at Wembley.

    Ollie Watkins grabbed the winning goal in the 56th minute in a rather tame affair between both sides with Southgate opting to field a more inexperienced eleven.

    One of the most experienced players on the pitch, Henderson, was given the captain’s armband but was booed off the pitch when he was substituted in the 62nd minute.

    Southgate stated that he couldn’t understand why in his post-match press conference.

    “I really don’t understand it. He’s a player, 79 caps for England, his commitment and what he’s delivered for England is exceptional,” he said via Sky Sports.

    “His role on and off the pitch is phenomenally important. He’s taken the likes of Bellingham under his wing. He’s a role model for the group in every part of his work.

    “This is a team that are delivering a lot and they all deserve every bit of support.

    Simon Jordan surprised by the solution to Newcastle’s latest £35m purchase

    Former Crystal Palace owner turned broadcaster, Simon Jordan, has been left scratching his head over Newcastle United’s most recent purchase.

    Certainly, the partnership between manager and board at St. James’ Park seems to be one of the more harmonious Premier League relationships.

    On the face of it, Todd Boehly’s relationship with Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea couldn’t be more different, and it’s the Blues who have helped the Magpies with their most recent purchase, that of 18-year-old Lewis Hall, who had only recently agreed a new six-year contract with the Stamford Bridge outfit according to The Telegraph (subscription required).

Alors qu’il avait été libéré pour le début de la compétition, il ne pensait pas que lui et ses coéquipiers iront jusqu’au tour final et a décidé de rester sur place. Pour rappel, il avait prolongé au début de l’année jusqu’en 2025 à Grenoble.

Nous avions autorisé, malgré cela, Jordan Tell, sur le temps qui ne dérangeait pas le GF38, celui des congés, à participer à cette compétition, sachant que nous avons déposé, en accord avec les joueurs, à la LFP, nos dates de reprise, prévue le 27 juin.» Visiblement dans l’incompréhension, Tell a posté un message touchant sur les réseaux sociaux et a été soutenu par sa fédération et de nombreux coéquipiers.

    It’s a sad day for Liverpool and evidently also for their former captain, Jordan Henderson, who has moved to the Saudi Pro League to start a new adventure with Al Ettifaq.

    Steven Gerrard’s side have secured their man, a player who took over the captain’s armband from Gerrard at Anfield.

    Jurgen Klopp will arguably find it difficult to get a replacement that will give as much to the Liverpool cause as Henderson did over the course of his Anfield career.

    Coming to the club as a 20-year-old from Sunderland, he’s gone on to be regarded as a Reds great, lifting the club’s first ever Premier League title as well as captaining the side to a sixth Champions League win, coming as a result of that epic comeback against Barcelona which is widely regarded as Liverpool’s best-ever European night.

    Perhaps their best night ever, full stop.

    Ahead of his switch to the Pro League, the player filmed an emotional goodbye message which was then posted on his official Instagram account.

    To those watching, his message comes across as genuine and heartfelt, however, there was one huge omission in the video that, perhaps after watching it back, Henderson will be mortified by.

    It’s fair to say that it was Jurgen Klopp’s appointment which really saw a positive upturn in the midfielder’s fortunes, and it would be hard to argue against the German being the main reason why Henderson went on to fulfil his dreams whilst wearing the Liverpool shirt.

    Not once did Klopp get a mention in the video, however, and that’s the costliest of oversights when making such a grandiose statement.

    A genuine error it may have been, but it won’t be any easier for Henderson’s old manager to swallow.
