Lucky 15 Tips: Frankie’s Four for Friday

Betfred Ambassador Frankie Foster has given us his four selections for Friday’s afternoon of racing up at the York Ebor Festival. He likes two favourites but two longer shots as well and putting them all in a 50p e/w Lucky 15 (Total Stake £15) offers up a potential £1,684.31 payout as of the time of publication…

14:25 – One of the most exciting races of the week for me, I can’t wait to see how this unfolds after how Quickthorn won at Goodwood. I dont think it will be as straight forward for him today, and provided Courage Mon Ami keeps closer tabs on the front runner he should get the better of him today!

15:00 – Kylian was disappointing last time out at Goodwood but it was very testing conditions that day so you can allow him that excuse. His win before at Sandown over 5f was very exciting. Today he’s back on a quicker surface, he’s a real speedster and I think he will love York.

15:35 – Twilight Calls could run a huge race. A horse that placed in two Group races last year before being very disappointing at both Newmarket and Haydock this year. Finally  looked back to that old form when 4th behind both Bradsell & Highfield Princess at Ascot. You’re getting a much better price than the two at the top of the market, an inform Twilight Calls deserves to be bang there.

17:15 – My final selection comes from the last race and is another horse who didn’t enjoy the rain at Goodwood but should enjoy the speed of the Knavesmire. Glenfinnan still has some maturing to do but is one I thinks well handicapped here.

Rain Cancels Remaining Houston Play Friday

For the third straight day at the Fayez Sarofim & Co. U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championship, rain has cancelled the bulk of the day’s play. While the last Houston first-round match was completed during a brief respite — with Max Purcell winning two games to close out a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 win against Daniel Altmaier — the rest of Friday’s play was cancelled at the ATP 250.

“We have had several inches of rain in the past two days that have saturated our courts and these unseasonably cool temperatures are slowing down the drying process,” said tournament director Bronwyn Greer. “We want to ensure that our courts are in the best possible condition to complete our tournament this weekend, and with that in mind we have decided to forgo play today with the exception of that first-round match that [was] deep into the third set.”

Purcell, who broke into the Top 100 of the Pepperstone ATP Rankings for the first time last month after winning three straight ATP Challenger Tour titles, entered Houston at a career high of World No. 86. He will face eighth seed Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the second round.

“My goal this year was to try to be Top 100 by Wimbledon or earlier than that. I’ve done that, and now I’m trying to push and pick up more points from tour-level events,” said the Australian, who won the Houston doubles title with countryman Matthew Ebden last season and is competing with Jordan Thompson in this year’s team event. “I want to be playing ATP Tour events the rest of the year, permitted that I keep winning. It’s a good start, and if I can keep pushing to quarters and onwards, it would be great.”

The entirety of the singles second round was scheduled to be completed on Friday in Houston, in addition to the quarter-finals. Both rounds are now set to be played on Saturday, with the semi-finals and final scheduled for Sunday. For doubles, the quarter-finals are now set to be played on Saturday, followed by the semis and the final on Sunday.

Two second-round matches were started on Thursday before being suspended: Gijs Brouwer led fourth seed John Isner 6-4, 5-6, while fifth seed J.J. Wolf and Denis Kudla were knotted at 4-4 in their opening set.

Top seed Frances Tiafoe will now open his Houston campaign against Steve Johnson on Saturday, while second seed Tommy Paul meets Yannick Hanfmann in his opening match.

Saturday’s schedule will be posted on ATPTour.com when it is available. For more information, including information on ticket refunds, please visit the official tournament website.

BetMGM and Almost Friday Media Team Up to Supply Unique Sports Content

Claim 100% up to $1,000 in Casino Bonuses on your first THREE deposits

BetMGM has inked a deal with Almost Friday Media thanks to which the latter will deliver its assets across YouTube, Discord, social media, live streams, podcasts, and more. The deal was announced last Thursday (August 25) and the content is set to make sports far more enjoyable for sports fans.

Almost Friday Media Is a Fast-Growing Network With Over 7 Million Followers

Almost Friday Media was created in 2019 by Sam, Jack, and Max Barnett. These three brothers started off with a collection of accounts on Instagram and gained popularity among sports fans pretty quickly. According to the company, its network today consists of over 7 million followers.

The unique, comedy-driven content helped Almost Friday Media to grow exponentially and now, the deal with BetMGM marks one of the highest accomplishments in its history.

Andrew Kenward, the president and COO of Almost Friday Media, stated that sports represent a “vital pillar” of the company’s ecosystem. He added that Almost Friday Media is excited to work with BetMGM and create content that will highlight how to enjoy sports betting in the most responsible way.

Matt Prevost, BetMGM’s CRO, stated that creating organic and elevated content is among the key ingredients of keeping BetMGM a “premium online gaming platform.” He stated that that’s exactly what Almost Media Friday will help the company with.

To fuel its expansion plans, Almost Friday Media raised almost $6 million back in March. Some of the early investors in this company include Matt Drapkin (Northern Right Capital), Jimmy Miller (Mosaic Media Group), Scott Broder (Dreamscape Hospitality), and Lloyd Danzig (Sharp Alpha Advisors).

Danzig even commented on the partnership and stated that it validates Almost Friday Media’s “unique ability” to use its humor to create relationships with globally renowned brands.

BetMGM Recently Expanded Its Canadian Presence

BetMGM remains dedicated to expanding its presence in the North American market. At the start of August, the sportsbook announced that it will be the official betting partner of the NFL in Canada. Thanks to this development, the operator will be able to use the official NFL branding to promote its content in Canada.

The senior director of corporate partnerships at NFL Canada, Gavin Kemp, stated that his team is happy to be working with BetMGM and noted that he’s aware of the quality that the operator has. He added that the unique gaming platform of BetMGM provides players with the best experience and that is why BetMGM will quickly conquer the fast-rising online market in Canada. Shortly after the partnership with the NFL was announced, BetMGM expanded its strategic partnership with SportsGrid. Thanks to this development, Warren Sharp, a leading football analyst at SportsGrid, will provide insights while certain sports events are being broadcasted.
