Leeds United journalist Phil Hay has shared a significant update on the future of Jesse Marsch ahead of their game at home to Fulham on Sunday.

Leeds lost 2-0 to Leicester City in the Premier League on Thursday, which leaves the Yorkshire side 16th in the table and the pressure is mounting on manager Jesse Marsch.

The Whites have lost three games in a row and are winless in seven and with Fulham coming to Elland Road on Sunday, the American coach needs a win to ease the pressure on him and his side.

Writing in his latest piece for The Athletic, Phil Hay has stated that Marsch is set to remain in charge for the Fulham clash.

Hay states that Marsch still has support from the Leeds board, even though away supporters at the King Power Stadium criticised his decisions and sang the name of their beloved former manager Marcelo Bielsa.

Following Bielsa was always going to be tough for the American coach but the former RB Leipzig boss has the ability to get Leeds back to winning ways.

Randy Freer, one of three recently appointed members to the Board of Directors at 888 Holdings, has resigned from his duties with immediate effect, the betting and gaming operator announced.

    Outside Commitments behind Resignation

Publishing a short statement to investors, Gibraltar-based gambling group 888 Holdings announced the resignation of Freer from his duties as an Independent Non-Executive Director (NED) at the FTSE250-listed gambling group.

Commenting on Freer’s resignation, 888 Holdings chairman Jon Mendelson thanked him for his contribution during his short time with 888 and wished him well for the future.

Freer was one of the three new NEDs, together with Andrea Gisle Joosen and Andria Vidler, who joined the Board of 888 in July as part of the Board’s expansion to nine members following the acquisition of William Hill and the changes to the team of the UK-based gaming company, but due to his outside commitments, he now stepped down.

    Chairman, CEO and Entrepreneur

Freer’s other commitments include his position as chairman of Sinclair Broadcast Group, the media that runs 19 regional sports networks under the Bally Sport brand, formerly owned by Fox, as well as the CEO of his own firm, The Freer Company.

A media and technology expert, Freer set The Freer Company with the idea to provide business vision and brand narrative advice to companies from a wide range of industries.

Before setting up his own advisory business, Freer served as chief executive officer at Hulu, the US subscription streaming service. He joined Hulu from 21st Century Fox where he was in charge of the media’s global entertainment and sports television assets.

“With the highly relevant skills and experience of our recently strengthened board, we continue to see exciting opportunities ahead as we deliver the group’s growth strategy and generate further stakeholder value,” concluded Mendelson.

Earlier in August, the Gibraltar-based online gaming group released its financial results for the first half of the year, posting a double-digit decrease in revenue year-over-year mainly due to the new safer gambling policies in the UK and the closure in the Netherlands.

Both of the new members are experienced sports betting workers who know the industry well. The two of them have previously worked for The Action Network as chief product officer and chief executive officer respectively.

Restivo has years of experience in the sector and has worked for various companies in the sector. He is the co-founder of Lucky Trader, an NFT company that was established this year. Another company he founded is gmoon. Restivo’s prior experiences include two years and a half as GM of Bamtech Media, two years as director of NHL Digital and six years at the leading multinational, multimedia sports entertainment company ESPN.

Szubski, on the other hand, has over a decade of experience as an advisor, investor and executive. He has worked for many notable companies, both within the gambling sector and outside of it. He is currently a strategic advisor and investor at Shift4Digital. Before his time with The Action Network, Szubski held positions at MailOnline, Playboy and BUZZMEDIA among other companies.

Restivo and Szubski are notably the first members of OddsJam’s newly-established advisory board.

The Advisors Will Work Besides the Company’s Founders

In their new position, the two advisors will work with OddsJam’s co-founders, Alex Monahan and Ankit Goyal and help the latter grow the company. Restivo spoke about his new position and revealed that he has been impressed with Monahan and Goyal’s “ability to produce intelligent sports betting.” Restivo noted that the founders’ ability to absorb sports data from sportsbooks in real time is what sets them apart from their competitors.

Szubski, meanwhile, said that he is happy with the opportunity to work with OddsJam’s team and help it grow. He pointed out that the odds company knows how to deal with data and use it to refresh the sports betting sector.

Monahan welcomed the two new members to the advisory team. He noted that their addition will help OddsJam adapt, evolve and answer to consumers’ demands. To this end, OddsJam will continue to engage fans with sports data for punters. Monahan concluded that he believes Restivo and Szubski are great additions that will help OddsJam a lot thanks to their experience in building and developing digital businesses.
